We first met Danilo Roman in 2026, after he purchased and began restoring an older coffee farm in Zaruma, Ecuador. A successful Ecuadorian entrepreneur, Danilo saw the farm as more than an investment—it was an opportunity to bring his family together while honoring the generations of coffee farmers who came before them. After renovating the farm’s water reservoir to restore reliable irrigation, Danilo and his family worked side by side to produce their first harvest, developing their own fermentation methods along the way. In 2026, Z Beans proudly purchased 20 quintals—approximately 2,000 pounds—of their coffee, helping Danilo and his family establish a market for their harvest and begin a new chapter in their family’s coffee-growing tradition.
